Roleplay - 1st of September, 2009

ooc: Pancake, I'm sure you can take one of Hershey's pups. You can also have Starburst, cause I don't know where abt2700 has gone...

bic: Luke sniffed, and turned to groom the wounds on his back. He then shook himself, and headed in the direction of the burrow, where Alex and Hershey were.

Starburst glanced at Luke and Joey. She knew that in most situations, Joey would become her new mate. But she wasn't so sure she was ready for that. Besides, she was pregnate with Luke's pups, nothing could change that. But the rest of Joey's new role was up to him.

ooc: Ok... I'll adopt one of Starburst's pups... Is there a set number yet?

ooc: Not that I'm aware of. Since your playing Starburst, you get to pick. When Abt2700 returns, I'll ask about Hershey.

bic: Luke arrived back at the burrow. Alex saw his brother was injured, and ran over, chirping worriedly. Luke just shook him off. Another male came. I'll be fine.

Joey padded over to Starburst and notices her round belly. She is pregnant. Joey scent marks her once more, showing Luke that these may be his pups, but this is no longer his mate.

Alex growled quietly. He didn't like it when his brother was hurt. But he worried about Hershey too, and he didn't really know Joey yet. He didn't want to put her in any danger because he upset him. He just lowered his head and dissapeared into the depths of the burrow.
Luke shook himself, and sat down and began to clean his wounds. Joey was probably what the group needed; a strong dominant male.

Joey decided there wasn't much to do, so he led the group out to forage around the burrow. While they foraged he kept his eyes on the sky. Nothing.

The words strike her ears. No longer her mate? Now, that was something that Joey could not decide. She gives a slight growl to Joey, snarling. She was really only trying to be difficult.

Hershey was sleeping below when Alex woke her up. She followed him above and met the new male. She chirped. Great, there group was growing! But, she only had feelings for Alex.

Alex growled quietly. But he had attacked Luke. He shook himself and lay down, needing a rest.
Luke looked at Joey, and stayed were he was. He didn't really feel like foraging right now.

Starburst snarled to Joey. She was in charge. Just being the new dominant male doesn't give you all the power in the world. She makes lead calls of her own.

Joey doesn't bother. Eventually Starburst will warm up to him, but Joey fears Starburst will mate with Luke and not him. so Joey decides to evict the male. He war dances towards the young male and snarls, raising his tail in dominance.

Hershey was below ground with Alex, grooming him. I can't believe what happened!

Luke snarled at Joey. Starburst was already pregnant. Why would he mate with her?
Alex heard snarling, and ran to his brother's aid. He chirped to Joey, trying to reason with him. The group was small enough without evicting Luke.

Hershey followed Alex. The group needed all the members it could get. And evictions could cause turmoil. She turned to Starburst for support.

Joey sighed. He knew the group was right but decided to bite Luke once more to show that he was no longer dominant, even if Starburst was pregnant with his pups.

Starburst nodded to Hershey, she was a generally fair dominant. But she wouldn't go easy on this new male too soon. As for the situation with both Hershey and herself being pregnant, well, she merely tried to be more strict at times, only to show that she was boss, to help the survival of her pups, but would not take it to extremes.

Joey sat down in the sand. Maybe this group didn't want him. If Starburst would not accept him, things just wouldn't work. Maybe he should just leave and hook up with a group that might really want him... no. He would stay here and prove to Starburst that he was just as good as Luke.

Luke growled at Joey bit him. But he didn't retaliate, as he was glad that he hadn't been evicted. He headed into the burrow, and curled up into one of the sleeping chambers.
Alex sat down, feeling drained. Today had been eventful.

ooc: Pancake and Abt2700, do you mind me asking how many pups will be in Starburst's and Hershey's litters?

ooc: 6 sounds good...


bic: Starburst glances at Joey. Prove yourself first! She then drifts into sleep.

Joey growls softly, disappointed. Fine, he thought. I'll pack up and leave. No, tomorrow, we will attack a group, and I will lead. When we win, Starburst will finally see I'm just as good as Luke.

Starburst curled up with Alex and fell to sleep.

ooc: Okay, six and three.
Abt2700, do you mean Hershey?

bic: Alex chrred to Hershey, smiling.
Luke curled up by his brother, and drifted into an uneasy sleep.
