Meerkat Talk

There should be a place on this site where you can talk about the show, "Meerkat Manor" or just chat about meerkats. So, what do you think?

I think that'd be a good idea. Linklu (Another meerkat role play site) has a forum called Meerkat Manor where you can talk about the show, monthly Life Histories of the KMP meerkat groups, certain meerkats from the series etc. Perhaps it can be where we can write meerkat fanfics too or discuss other meerkat related topics.

I miss MM I might have to get the DVDs out again.

I haven't watched MM in ages...

After Flower died, I become heartbroken and didn't watch the rest of the series. But I agree, that does sound like a fantastic idea.

I saw season 4 which in my opinion was good but it had more of a soap operah effect and there was some contraversy about how they potrayed the romance in the series. People thought the series wasn't very child friendly. In season one, two and three they only briefly showed meerkats mating or their mating was obsucred by a bush or something but in season 4 there's like a whole minute or more of you watching them mate in the open and there was alot of that in the season. The new narrator sounded monotonal. They replaced Sean Astin with Stockard Channing. I like her but not as a narrator. She sounded like a robot.

I didn't watch season 4. The narration killed it and episode 1 was terrible and forgettable, I just didn't watch it. I do have it on DVD, though, I plan on watching it EVENTUALLY. xD

I have to admit Stockard Channing really ruined it. I did like season four and they did change facts that were actually true and some improper names, but it wasn't as good as the first three seasons (no where near).

I really hope that they bring back Meerkat Manor and get a season five going.

Same. I miss watching exciting events unfold for our beloved meerkats on the screen. Meerkat Manor premiered on the Hub for a little while but they recently stopped showing it There's a ray of hope though I read on the KMP website that a film crew is recording the meerkats for a 3D documentary that will be launched in the UK this summer. For the US, it'll be showing on the National Geographic Channel, but only in 2D, and it didn't say when it'll be launched in the States. I can't wait! Hopefully it premieres on US TVs in the fall.
