Roleplay - 23rd of July 2009

Stripe emerged cautiously. She peered out of the burrow, and noticed a bird sitting in a nearby tree. It wasn't anything to be alarmed about, but it still unerved Stripe and she dissapeared below.

Running Star nuzzled Streak just before climbing out of the burrow. She was gaining weight, and finding it much harder to move around. She faced the sun to warm herself, then waited for the others to emerge.

ooc: Runningstar, you know how I told you the due date for Running Star's pups? It's been changed to the 1st of September.

bic: Stripe reappeared and started to sun herself.

Summing up all his strength, Streak stumbled out of the burrow. His leg was badly swolen, and it was difficult to walk. He was very hungry, but it would be hard keeping up today.

Stripe chirped worriedly. Streak's leg was obviously bad, but he really needed to come foraging.

Running Star slowly set off from the burrow. She wanted to be certain that Streak could keep up. She kept checking behind her to be sure he was still there, hoping someone was scanning the area for threats. She didn't smell or see anything dangerous, so she kept going.

Stripe followed, keeping her eye out for dangers. She was nervous and jumpy. She called to Streak and Lewa, encouraging them to follow.

Streak weakly followed. He digged at certain spots, but the effort to dig was taking a lot out of him. He chirped to the group, thanking them for staying with him.

Running Star dug up a millipede, and offered it to Streak.

Stripe decided to go on sentry duty. She chrred to the others, to let them know she was keeping watch.

Streak smiled gratefully at Running Star and ate it, knowing he'd have to keep his strength up. Determinedly, he began to search for an easy meal, and soon came across an ant hill and began snapping at the ants. It wasn't much, but working too hard would take up all the energy he was getting from food.

Stripe chhred to the others. There wer storm clouds on the horizon, in the direction of The Little Clouds.

Streak looked up warily at the storm clouds.

Running Star looked in the direction of the clouds, not liking what she was seeing. She began to dig furiously, trying to get a bit more food before the weather changed for the worse. Her efforts got her a millipede, and nothing more.

Stripe climbed down from her post. She hadn't eaten yet, and with the approaching stormclouds, she needed to start foraging. She caught a scorpion and ate ravenously.

Streak began to forage, though it was hard with his injury. He managed to scavenge a few beetles but that was it.

Stripe looked up. She could see movement in the distance. She growled, feeling uneasy.
Teetsie led the Twilights into the Zipper's land. She hadn't noticed the group yet, but it wouldn't be too long before she did. Mae, who was still holding onto Inle, followed loyally behind her, and her mate Click was at her side.

Streak looked up, seeing the Twilights as well. Even with his injury, he stood up and snarled.

Running Star angrily led the others toward home, stealing glances behind her every so often to be sure that they had not been seen. She didn't want to risk the life of the one adult male in the group by engaging the enemy.

Streak looked at Running Star guiltily and chirped. He wish he could have been more of help right now.

Running Star nuzzled Streak gently to let him know it was okay, and then continued.

Stripe followed and chrred to Streak. Even if he wasn't injured, they were badly outnumbered.
Click saw movement and chirped to The Twilights. The Zippers! Teetsie growled and began a war-dance towards them. Click followed, but Mae hesitated, before placing Inle down and joining in.

Streak smiled softly at Running Star and Stripe, then looked back and gasped when he saw the Twilights beginning to follow.

Lithium began to wardance as well, teeth pulled back in a snarl.

Running Star's anger began to flare up. She didn't want to run, but they were outmatched. She led them toward the burrow, hoping they could make it home.

Stripe followed anxiously.
Teetsie dashed forwards, but before she could reach the Zippers, lightning flashed overhead, and the rains began to fall.. Teetsie stopped and looked towards the sky. The storm was starting!
Stripe dashed towards the nearest bolt-hole, and dived inside. SHe looked behind her, to see if the others had followed.
With no other choice, Teetsie dashed towards the same bolt-hole, calling urgently to the others. Mae and Click followed, wasting no time in taking shelter.
Stripe looked up fearfully ans Teetsie shook herself dry. This couldn't end well.
